Technical analysis
How slope, drainage, wind, substrate and installation conditions affect membrane laps and tape joints.
Engineering scope
- Principle
- There is no single overlap width suitable for every membrane and project.
- Verification
- The joint must be supported, clean, dry, compatible and pressed continuously in the drainage direction.
- Field control
- Use project drawings and product instructions to set dimensions and restraint.
System decision
Start with the actual roof or wall build-up, climate, indoor condition and risk at the relevant interface. Product data must be connected to a defined layer and detail.
Documentation and acceptance
Keep design details, approved product data, delivery labels, batch records, mock-ups, concealed-work photographs and repairs traceable to the installed area.
